Information about Norco, California

The City of Norco, incorporated as a general law City in 1964 and a Charter City in 2003, is Horse country situated along the Interstate 15 Freeway in Western Riverside County. The City limits cover an area of approximately 15 square miles, with a population of approximately 26,703 as of January 2005. Residents enjoy over 400 acres of parkland and 95 miles of pedestrian/equestrian trails. Norco is also home to the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, the California Rehabilitation Center and the Riverside Community College, Norco Campus.

The city contracts its legal services out to various law firms, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department patrols the streets and the citizens more or less watch out for themselves. The citizens of Norco like to think of themselves as Westerners, thus the western style demeanor of the downtown area.

It is not uncommon to see more horses on the streets than cars and that's just fine with the locals.
