City of Chino's Youth Christmas Parade and Fair on December 9th, 2008.

On December 9th, the City of Chino will once again host its annual Youth Christmas Parade and Fair in the City’s downtown.  The parade route begins on Riverside Drive at Yorba Avenue and then turns south on Central Avenue, ending at City Hall.

There will be a Pancake Breakfast at the Senior Center from 7:30 –10:00 am.  The Parade starts at 9:00 am, features bands, floats and other groups, along with the Mayor and Council riding in the parade to wish our citizens a happy holiday season.

The fair is held after the parade on the East Lawn of City Hall from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.  A craft fair will be at the Senior Center/Library parking lot and there will be food and game booths and many activities for people of all ages.  The carnival runs from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and there will be family entertainment at the steps of City Hall starting at 11:00 am.

This year, the Parade and Fair celebrates the City’s recognition as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People, a national award Chino earned this year out of thousands of communities across the U.S.

As a side note, when I was attending Upland High, we were invited to March every year at the parade. It was quite a sight to see 200 members of Upland and about 2500 members of other bands standing in line after the parade to eat a welcomed Pancake Breakfast. We always had a ball.
