Y not try the Y not Tavern....
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 1:32pm
Next time you find your self out in the Perris Valley working or visiting friends or just sight seeing Y not try stopping by the Y Not Tavern located on 41 south D St located on the west side of town over by the CDF Fire Command Center. A small unassuming location just south of the Perris Manson and CDF center it is a nice neighbor hood eatery, with very good and friendly service. As soon as you enter the door you are greeted by a friendly Hostess who will ask if you prefer a table or table or you can just browse around and find your own seat. Works both ways. they have a light grill, meaning they serve a variety of easy to cook foods, from hamburgers and french fries to sirloin and rib eye steaks, salads, soups and a full compliment of beers, even some local favorites are on tap. For about 10 bucks you can sit and enjoy the scenery or on Saturday nights arrive with a date or find a local and dance to jukebox music and the occasional band. During the week they have a piano bar and the music is really quite good. Even though Perris might be considered out of the way it is only 20 minutes south of Riverside via the 215 freeway. Going south get off at D street and at your first stop sign, with the courthouse on your left, make a right and head west jog around the CDF center and you will find the Y-Not-Tavern. You can also call ahead at 909-657-4033 and ask to see who the band is and what the house special is. If it is Clam Chowder or Potato Broccoli those are both worth the trip. Re: Y not try the Y not Tavern....
Im sorry to report 'Ghostpainter" sadly times have changed and your Y NOT Tavern isnt the glorified establishment you once knew, not greeted by a hostess, depleted of a piano bar, since you did mention the 215 freeway, it does take you to more glowing eaterys just off the next exit on Nuevo Road, Sizzler Steak House, and the popular and friendly and inexpensive Jennys Diner..
