The Red Lady House
Submitted by iedude on Sun, 10/09/2011 - 6:52pm
"George and Martha" (not their real names) asked us to investigate their home after experiencing near constant paranormal and haunting activity since moving into the house in 2004. "George" is a professional musician and he has asked that we keep his identity and location of their home anonymous.
When George and Martha first moved into their new home in 2004 which was built in 1951, one of the first things they noticed is that the previous owners who were of Chinese descent had been burning candles in every window. Martha, being half-Chinese knew this was a sign that the previous owners had been trying to keep spirits away.
From the first week after moving in the family began noticing things that were unusual. They would hear voices such as a man clearing his throat in the bedroom in the middle of the night. A woman speaking directly into George's ear saying "invite them to dinner". Childlike whispers late at night in the living room. The couple's grandson heard a woman speaking into his ear saying "I was only kidding".
Soon after the voices they began to notice other unusual or paranormal activities such as:
- The family dogs sitting in the hallways staring at the walls, growling or barking
- Cabinet drawer handles lifting up and then back down before their eyes
- The sound of other cabinet drawer handles moving/clanking in the middle of the night
- The sound of feet moving across the floor in various areas of the house
- The sound of someone sitting down on the couch next to George
- An electric child's toothbrush that lights up turning on by itself
- A small battery powered Virgin Mary statue with a difficult/faulty switch that turns on by itself, one time draining the battery, then beginning to work again and turning on by itself
- Visible 'sparkly orbs' flying around the ceiling of what is known as the "pink room"
- "Sensitive" friends being contacted by, or sensing the presence in the home and terming it as very aggressive
- The Sensitive friend also reports being visited by a young asian boy that intimates that he loves the family and is very protective of them
- The Grandson seeing the face of a very old looking lady in the "pink room", now called the "red lady" due to the red clothing the was wearing
- The feeling of a cold chill and the hair on their arms standing up while in the pink room
- During an investigation by a local paranormal group, the group's Sensitive became very disoriented and dizzy
- A young boy wearing 1940 style clothing was seen peeking around a hallway wall before disappearing
- The couple's grandson reporting seeing a similar young boy that none of the adults were able to see
- The figure of a tenable boy has been seen walking through the home
- Shadow figures darting in and out of the hallway leading into the 'pink room'
- The couple's daughter has reported the 'pink-room' shaking
- Sounds of small feet walking in the pink room
- An outdoor picnic umbrella was once lifted out of a table and laid on the grass. There was no wind and nothing else on the table was disturbed
- A psychic, via an email psychic reading declared the spirit of a teenaged boy in the home
George and Martha have confirmed with the neighbors that an old woman died in what is now known as the "pink room" approximately 30 years ago.
Because of their experience of what they belive is a haunting, the couple contacted a local paranormal investigative group in mid 2011. The paranormal investigators confirmed seeing the sparkly orbs on the ceiling of the pink-room, and a camera battery mysteriously died and then began working again but recorded nothing else unusual.
On October 8 2011 we investigated the home. We gathered over an hour of video and EVP recordings while touring the home and recapping the stories of the unusual happenings. We also spoke out to the "red lady" and any other spirits that may be present asking questions, offering help, etc.
While at the home a child's battery-powered light-up toothbrush which has a difficult/faulty switch, and that was thought have a dead battery, began to work. George also demonstrated the hair on his arms standing up and moving as he moved his hand over it, something which only happens in his home. After review of all the video and audio evidence, we were able to find nothing unusual.
Re: The Red Lady House
I'm working on a paranormal investigation show on SyFy Channel and I would like to hear more about this case, I'm at helpthehaunted@gmail.com or 310-645-1499, ask for Jorge Del Pinal!
Re: My house
Update:
Last night all the doors in the small hallway (that leads to the Red Lady 'pink room') slammed closed at about 2:30am - two bedroom doors and the bathroom door. and at the same time, the vacuum which was also in the hallway was pushed over and knocked to the ground.
Re: The Haunted Red Lady House
Let me see if I can interject some sanity here, may I?
I think the other items can be summed-up in one of these ways:
You decide which you think is more likely..
This sounds a lot to me like "new house syndrome". Someone with a suggestible nature moves into a new or unfamiliar place, and for whatever reason (in this case, the candles in the windows) they make a preconceived notion that the house is haunted. Any time they experience anything unusual - things that they would normally shrug-off or not even notice they now automatically attribute to a 'ghost'. Over time this idea grows in their mind, and getting buy-in from other worthless sources such as a psychic over the internet or a "sensitive" that "sees" something or gets dizzy, just validates the ideas. Of course as has been shown twice, when trying to validate with something even close to scientific observation, it all fails. Although I'm sure the psychics and sensitives would tell us this is because the spirits chose not to make their presence seen by the outsiders.
