THE RAXX IS BBQ KING IN RIVERSIDE.

The RAXX BBQ in Down Town riverside is one of those places that succeeds by word of mouth, and its success is worthy of what is said about the food and beer here.

The RAXX is not to far from where the company i worked for had it's office, so when ever I had the time I would pop on down to the RAXX for a Sandwich Dinner and if it was near dinner time I would grab two takeouts for home.

The owners of RAXX have a big sign on there wall that you can see from the outside of the building or as you walk in thru the front door...Of course if the smell doesn't bring you in, your nose must be plugged....Anyway this signs says it all about the overall World View of the RAXX.....Rub It, Heat It, Slap It, Eat It.....The first time I saw this sign I had to ask the waitress what in the world that meant....Rub it refers to the way the secret spices are rubbed onto the meat....Heat it means at least 18 hours in the BBQ slow cooking over oak and white wood.....Slap it refers to the wet rub they put on the meat as it nears perfection....Eat it....Well, I got that real fast....If you on the otherhand, have to be told what that means, you can leave now.

The RAXX is Southern Styled BBQ.....They deliver two combinations that go to together naturally....Great BBQ and Homemade Brewed Beers....They have a dark ale colored beer that has a sweet beginning and a tart ending if you understand my meaning....It is really one of the best home brews I have tasted in a long time.

The RAXX is based on 1940 and 1950 Southern Style Atmosphere with a strong New Orleans Blues and Jazz influence.....In fact, on Friday and Saturday, The RAXX features some of the best Blues and Jazz artists now playing in the Inland Empire.....They even have a Karaoke Night devoted to Blues and Jazz....So bring your best southern voice if you plan on Serenading the crowd.

The last time I was there I had the Smoked Brisket Sandwich....The Brisket is smoked for over 12 hours.....They trim off the fat, toss the meat on a hot grill and soon as it is seared, they chopped the meat up real fine, and serve it with Cole Slaw and BBQ Beans.....I have also had the RAXX House Feast which is a St Louis slab of Pork Ribs that simply fall off of the bone when you pick the up....And the Honey Cornbread that comes with the meal served with lots of butter and real Maple syrup....What a meal....Oh did I tell you this place was messy eating....They do provide plenty of napkins....I guess they know from past experience how messy some of their guest get.

They do offer Catering....I would call them to check on prices....And they will smoke Home Kill...Meaning if you have a pig, or quarter ham or side of beef that needs there magic touch, they can make arrangements for that as well....Please call 951-784-2739 or you can FAX them at 951-784-3524.

All I say is if you find yourself Hungary for some great BBQ and you are in the Riverside Area, try the RAXX....They just might have a RACK of tender tasting fall off the bone meat just waiting for you.

The RAXX is open Sunday thru Thursday, 11: am to 9:pm and Friday and Saturday, 11: am to 10: pm....
