Magic Nights at the Magic Lamp Inn

Located almost directly across the street from the Sycamore Inn is the Magic Lamp Inn, currently celebrating its 50th year of Excellent service to the residents of Upland and Cucamonga and all of the Inland Empire.....For years, it seemed that we had three of the best Restaurants were here in Cucamonga and there was quite literally nothing else.

Back in the 60's and 70's before the building boom started out here, there were only about 3500 residents living in the Cucamonga Area....We always use to joke that most of those residents were all related to us....Of course that wasn't the case but it sure seemed like it.

Getting back to my story, there weren't many other places to eat out here aside from Bobs Big Boy up on 19th and Carnelian.....When I first started going to the Magic Lamp when I was a kid we all wore suit and tie, and if you were a women it was your Sunday best, because back then, it was expected....The Magic Lamp was special....We like to think it still is, except that now, causal dress is more the norm during the evenings unless there is a special event taking place....And at the Magic Lamp, special events are the norm rather than the unusual.

The Magic Lamp has four distinct room for those special events seating 5 to 100 people.....The Cucamonga Room seats over 100 people....The Wine Cellar, which has a giant wine cask on one wall and a bar on the other side also seats 100 people....The Foothill Room is one of the smaller rooms that pays homage to Route 66 in pictures...It is just the right size room for a small business affair...It seats 35 people.

The Magic Lamp people specialize in providing the best service for any event you might wish to have....From Wedding Receptions to Square Dancing, they have planned for all possiblities.

The management team at the Magic Lamp also make's sure your night time activities are taken care of as well....The Bar and Lounge is open Friday and Saturday for a Food and Drink fest beginning at 8:30 till closing time at 2: am....They offer a complete menu of O'houres Devours such as Crispy Artichoke Hearts, Sizzling Shrimp Scampi, Hot Cheese Toast which I personally recommend, Crab Cakes & Corn Relish, Chilled Shrimp Cocktail, Potato Skins, Spicy Chicken Wings, Fruit & Cheese Plate, Sautéed Mushrooms and a fantastic tasting Popcorn Shrimp.

Then comes the second menu consisting of Magic Lamp Burger, 8 oz. Prime Rib Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, a classic French Dip Roast Beef with beef aujuice with fried onions, a Classic Reuben with French wine mustard and long dill slices and my favorite the ultimate Caesar Salad with Cheese Toast which is a meal in itself......There is a two drink minimum, but you can spend all night here in the Bar just listening to good live music, eating and sipping your favorite brandy or a bottle of excellent wine.

And did I mention the dancing....On Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday you can dance to the soft tunes of Phill and Scott beginning at 8:30 pm till the Bar closes in the early AM.

The Magic Lamp is open during the following hours;

Luncheon Tuesday - Friday 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Dinner Tuesday - Sunday from 5:00 PM

Happy Hour Tuesday - Friday 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Karaoke Tuesday from 8:30 PM
