NIGHT LIFE IN VERDUE....COUNTRY STYLE
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Tue, 09/04/2007 - 2:39pm
The Brandin’ Iron is the Inland Empires longest running Honky Tonk since 1969.....The Brandin’ Iron is located in the historic 1953 Citrus Bowl building.....The brassy and classy authentic saloon interior and 3" thick huge maple dance floor has made this place literally world famous.....But it wasn't always so....After one of the original owners, Bob Hill died in 1987, the famous building and salon sat empty and forlorn until 1992, when Bill Thomas rode into town and brought the Brandin' Iron back to its glory.
We visited the BI as the current owner refers to the place several times during the 90's, generally after work of course, and just during work....I had the privilege of delivering and recording the legal documents at the recorders office when the place reopened for business in 1992....One reason i decided to go back and revisit this place...I liked what I saw and loved the smell of the Kitchen.
The BI offers country style hospitality to the residents of the Inland empire and sees a 70% repeat business.....They offer a place to sit down, put up your feet and relax for a while, and at the same time enjoy yourself and have an evening of fun, good food and drink.
The BI is a place where you can bring your daughter, sister, mom, aunt or grandma to have fun, dance, and feel safe.....if you have ever been to the BI you know what I am talking about....The food is good the drinks are satisfying and the staff is friendly....Listed below is an idea of what happens at the BI on a daily basis...Always something different and always something new for everyone to enjoy no matter what your tastes are.
Family Day is on Sunday....They provide a All U-Can-Eat Buffet, Dance Lessons, for all ages and Fun and games.....All this for $5 for Adults and $3 for children 12 and under and they have a special deal where if you bring in two cans of food for the needy, one child will be admitted with the paid admission of an adult....Now you can't beat that now can ya.....The are open on Sunday from 3pm-8pm.
Monday is Rockin’ Country Young Adult Night.....They have spent 13 years developing this night as a drug free, Alcohol free event for high school young adults.....They are open 7PM-11PM, and it costs $5 per person during the school year and $7 per person during spring break and the long hot summer....They even have dance lesions starting at 8:pm.
Tuesday night is $1 Taco Tuesday.....They specialize in Line Dancing and 2-Steppin' and have Karokee after 9:30pm.....Must be 18 and Over, and there is no Cover Charge.....$2.50 well drinks and longnecks all night......6PM-1AM
Wednesday night is College Night....No Cover Charge with College or Military ID from 7-11PM......50 cent draft 7-9pm and $2 well drinks 7-11pm.....$2 Longnecks all night.......Fully Loaded 1/2LB BI Burger w/ Fries $6.........18 & over welcome and the BI Parties till 3AM
Thursday is something the BI staff call, U-Call It well drinks?....They charge $1.50 for well drinks, and $2.50 for all Domestic Longnecks all night long!....They also have a 1/2LB Top Sirloin Steak Dinner $8.50, they bring in a live Country Band, there is No Cover and they are open 5PM-7PM for this event.....You must be 21 or over for the well drinks and they card you at the door.
That's just an sample of what the Brandin Iron has to offer....You can get there by taking the 10 out to the 215 and go north, get off at the Orange Show go west till you get to E street and then turn north....It wont be to far up the road.....The address is listed below.
