Night Life with a Buffalo Burger at The Buffalo Inn in Upland....
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Sat, 09/15/2007 - 10:53am
As you head west on Foothill (Route 66) crossing Central Ave and just about the time you are to pass into Montclair, you see a very Western Style Restaurant on the south side of the street.....Its unique Western Motif is also dominated by a equally unique Western styled sign....It reads the Buffalo Inn....What in the world is the Buffalo Inn? Do they serve Buffalo Meat or something.
As a matter of fact they do....The Buffalo Inn has been serving Buffalo burgers to residents and passerby's since 1929, when it was opened as a restaurant and tavern serving Buffalo burgers and draft beer.
The Buffalo Inn interior is also the predicted Western style, but the large trellised out door patio is a shaded area where in the summer time you can kick back and enjoy the restaurants signature Buffalo burger and a large draft, or perhaps a spicy Cajun chicken sandwich, a large pot of chili, a t-bone and another specially of the restaurant, there home made potato chips and at the same time listen to the nights live entertainment.

ME! Eat at a Veggie Restaurant, no way I told a couple of friends of mine, but they convinced me to come along and I was glad I did....Not only was the food real good but so was the live band up on stage.....A group called "The Mt Baldy Mountain Jazz Band" was playing some tunes that you might think would only be heard in the Big Easy.
We were there on a Thursday Night, and the place was packed.....I was really surprised that a Vegetatarian Restaurant could be so good and filling....This is what I had while the band played on....I had what they call "French Fries for Boys," a heaping pile of kinnebec potatoes, topped with garlic, scallions and cheddar cheese....I also had the "Potato Taquitos"....These are spiced potatoes wrapped in a corn tortilla and deep dried and topped with cheese and guacamole and served with your choice of Salsa....Those were just the Appetizers.

This gastronomical hot spot, tucked inside the posh, newly renovated Lake Arrowhead Resort on Highway 189, serves scrumptious gourmet cuisine that's not haughty......Many of the dishes start as all-American favorites that the executive chef imbues with fresh and intriguing ingredients and seasonings. And the Resort, has been made into a overnight or weekend lovers retreat.....for instance.....After a night of gourmet dinning you can arrange what the resort refers to as "the Dirty Weekend".....This is a room intended for two, to indulge in a night of sensuous delights....Citrus scented candles, massage oils and bath bombs await you in your room....Also provided are Tequila, lime wedges, a shaker and shot glasses and a special dessert.....A little pot of Dark chocolate with brushes ample enough for a full body paint or just a few dabs, and upon request a special bottle of lemon flavored whipped topping....also included is a digital camera for your discreet use or own peril....After a night of quite reflections a meal is served in your room with Bloody Mary's exactly the way you like them....All of this must be booked at least 12 hours before your visit and you must call for pricing.
Buckhorn Lodge & Restaurant In Mt Baldy Village.
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Tue, 09/11/2007 - 1:03pm
I have been going up to the Lodge since I was a kid with my parents, especially for News Years Eve Parties....We have been up there when it was snowing and we have been up there when it was 75 degrees on News Year Eve....But the Outside Temp doesn't affect the party atmosphere that is taking place on the inside.
During the 60's they had ladies night, which was a special party night after 12 midnight, for all women over the age of 18....You must remember that Baldy Village is more than one mile above sea level and back then any woman over the age of 18 could drink....After midnight, the drinks were free for the fairer sex, and no one I knew ever complained....I dont know if that policy still holds or not, it has been nearly 10 years since I was able to make the trip up the hill to partake in party festivities.
The Coachman Steak House in Riverside....

is your destination if you want a simple casual night of feasting, but with food to match any classic steakhouse's reputation, and entertainment into the wee hours of the night.
Lets talk about there food, because it is really quite good and they offer a wide selection of items to satisfy anyone's taste buds....The Appetizer menu offers fried Zucchini, fried Zucchini with Cheese, Rumaki Bay Shrimp, Sautéed Mushrooms, Escargot (Snails), Steamed Clams, a Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail that will set your taste buds on fire, and a Greek Steak Broiled to Order.....I have never tried the Greek Steak, but I understand it is an acquired taste.
From the Oven and Broiler you can order several different dinner types, from the Fried Chicken Breast to a Vegetable Plate
The Cocky Bull is Back....
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Fri, 09/07/2007 - 9:33am
Might sound kind of funny for a flashy restaurant name, but its what's inside that counts....The Cocky Bull is famous for its big steaks and family atmosphere....We had several family gathering's there and I always had the 18 ounce T Bone Steak with all the trimmings....Man that was good.
Every thing about the Cocky Bull is big, including its ego....That's what got the restaurant into trouble in 2004...The owner got to big for his own good and felt he could do anything he wanted...Selling liquor to minors and allowing prostates to walk the parking lots didn't do what I thought was a great family eating establishment any favors....It was shut down for those many infractions and those big steak lovers like myself, lost a great place to eat.
