will find you happy, well fed and ready for the next day as we like to say... 'On the Border' Cantina, sports bar and family restaurant is another of those themed restaurants that you want to return to as often as you can. they are a nationwide chain and one of there establishments just happens to be right down the street from me on Foothill in the Target Center. Open in 2002 'On the border' has been a favorite of the entire family ever since. There lunch specials which last from 11:am to 4:PM are priced for the person or persons on the fly and don't have time to sit in the sports bar and have to get back to work.

What did they do with the monkeys when they shut the Mission drive-in down?
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Sat, 05/17/2008 - 12:53pm
Ah the good old days....work thru the week then take time on Friday Night to check the paper for what was playing at the local drive ins....We had plenty to choose from back then in the 60's and early 70's. But I always wondered...what happened to all of the monkeys they had at the Mission in Montclair. Now the old Mission was on the corner of Benson and Holt and right down the street you would find the Valley....Or was it the other way around. Anyway, it was the Mission that had the Monkeys in long cages against the south fence along holt. A lot of people would get in early just so you could go to the snack bar and buy some popcorn or peanuts just to feed the ugly smelly critters...That is one thing I remember about them....If the Santa Ana's were blowing, the smell was almost enough to make you throw up that Pizza you just bought from the snack bar.
The Tahquitz Inn in Idyllwild. A night, weekend or week of personal pleaseure in the tall pines of the San Jacinto Mountians.
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Sat, 04/26/2008 - 5:36pm
Located on Hwy 243 above 5300 feet on the south side of Idyllwild, the tahquitz Inn has been serving guests since 1977. Tahquitz is the name of the Indian tribe that inhabited the region in the 1700 and 1800's.
The Inn offers one and two bedroom suites, with kitchens and available with fireplaces. In-suite phones, coffee, cable TV, and a heated pool and spa (May-October) are just a few of the amenities that set the Inn apart from other lodges in Idyllwild, all at affordable rates. And they even allow dogs that cant just be separated from their loving masters. You have to bring your own pooper scooper. they don't provide them and they do expect everything to be spotless when you leave.

Next time you find your self out in the Perris Valley working or visiting friends or just sight seeing Y not try stopping by the Y Not Tavern located on 41 south D St located on the west side of town over by the CDF Fire Command Center. A small unassuming location just south of the Perris Manson and CDF center it is a nice neighbor hood eatery, with very good and friendly service. As soon as you enter the door you are greeted by a friendly Hostess who will ask if you prefer a table or table or you can just browse around and find your own seat. Works both ways. they have a light grill, meaning they serve a variety of easy to cook foods, from hamburgers and french fries to sirloin and rib eye steaks, salads, soups and a full compliment of beers, even some local favorites are on tap.
