Celebrate New Years Eve with a Murder and Mayhem, good drinks and fine dinning!

Yes I said Murder, along with dinner and cocktails you can make reservations for News Years eve at the Avila Terrace located right down the street from the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside.

As you walk into the Avila you suddenly find your self on St. Vincents Island and in the Caribbean's finest restaurant in the Islands. One thing though. Every one you meet has a somewhat jaded and shadowy past. You have to keep one eye on the food and the other eye following what's happening around you. And that's exactly what they want you to do. Have a good time.

But The charming, relaxed ambiance of the Café Noir is a little off tonight. It seems
the proprietor was found dead this morning, floating face-down in the bay. The
tension is high and the motives are many. But who-dunnit? Unravel this classic
1940's Bogart-style mystery, as you discover the sordid lies and broken lives
of the patrons of the Café Noir. Danger and intrigue abound in this exotic locale...
And if you play your cards right, you just may encounter some unexpected romance
along the way.

If its the same romance that I experienced at the Sycamore Inn (that's another story) a few years ago during the same sort of engagement, you have to watch it too....Seems these ladies of the Caribbean all carry switch blades and can surprise you with a quick stab to the chest just as you take a sip of your brandy snifter.

At the Avila Terrace, the meals are just as important as the show going around you. All meals are prepared with the best daily delivered local ingredients, prepared fresh and healthy and are made to your pleasure. As the cook says, 'all of our meals are prepared to make you happy and content when you leave for the night.

Mother and daughter chefs, Josie Hornback and Naomi Avila, have become a local institution in Downtown Riverside operating The Tamale Factory since 1995. If you love tamales like I do, this is the type of place where you cant just buy one or two. You buy them by the dozen and hope you have some left for the morning breakfast. At the Avila Terrace this mother daughter team puts the same devotion and creativity with there combinations of California and traditional Mexican cuisine to benefit with an entirely new menu for The Gourmet Detective.

Avila Terrace theatre is located across the Downtown Mall walk from the Mission Inn directly upstairs of The Tamale Factory Restaurant at 3652 Main Street or on the North Mall. The entrance is on the Mall walk side of the building facing the Mission Inn. Call 866-992-5424 to make reservations for either dinner or show times.

Prices change, so call for that information as well.
