Fun parades through Norco fair
Submitted by Ghostpainter on Sun, 09/03/2006 - 8:51am
NORCO - Strider, a white Husky dressed in a green dragon costume, was suffering under the hot sun on Saturday, which at 10 a.m. was already uncomfortable.
His owner, Frankie Kalinski, 7, tried to coax the exhausted pet to continue walking toward three judges, seated nearby under a white tent.
"I think he's done for the day," said Frank Kalinski, Frankie's father.
But, after a few loving pats on the head, Strider found the energy to make his way down the dirt path and the two were able to pose for the three judges.
Frankie and Strider had just taken part in the Pet Parade, a popular event at the 59th Annual Norco Valley Fair.
Kalinski's cousin, Cassie Krueger, 10, and her dog, a Westy, also participated, dressed in outfits inspired by the movie "Legally Blonde."
