You are right. It was a great raceway.
not only was it a big oval and it had a large S turn. (kind of a oval and a road course all in one). But it also ran clockwise. Oppoisite of all other race tracks that got Counter-clockwise. It was a great track. It was there until the mid 80's. I saw greats like The "King" Richard Petty, Davy Allison, Carl Yarbouugh, a very young Dale Ernhart Sr. and all the others. It was great a shame that they decided to make room for retail centers. Which by the way took almost 20 years of vacant land to make it into a Lowes. Can you believe it..
