I suppose that I am stepping right into this, but my dad and uncles and several history books usually refer to the ship as either a two masted bark which would be about 110 feet long and about 35 feet wide, or a small sloop, the type favored for close quarters....Either way, the finding of a small craft like this out in the Salton Basin or even in the Indio area would give credit to the Spanish who always claimed that they sailed as far north as the Blyth area and this was by using charts and navagation that the Spanish were one of the Best.In the world during this era.
