Information about Morongo Valley, California

Morongo Valley is on state highway 62 as you climb from the lower desert to the high desert. In fact the small community has the distinction of being one area that is a major transition from the lower below sea level communities of the Palm Springs Coachella Valley to the High Desert communities of Landers, Twenty Nine Palms and Joshua Tree.
And that climb is dramatic. As I said you go from below sea level on the 10 freeway, then climb into the lower Morongo Valley at 2500 feet, you then head north out of the community towards the Yucca Valley, you climb nearly 1500 feet in less than 2 miles. My Family and I have actually gone from warm sunny weather, up into Yucca Valley with 10 inches of falling snow and 15 degree temperatures.
